pandemic issues affecting you and your family

Pandemic issues affecting you and your family can become devastating, challenging, but can be overcome through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Make no mistake about it; the pandemic of Covid-19 coronavirus we are experiencing in our world right now is a horrible and malicious virus that has begun to plague the earth, and has indeed spread to mostly every nation in our world, affecting the lives of many people to date.

Our media has done well in creating more fear in our hearts and minds, but don't allow that to deter you as a Christian. As believers and followers of Christ, you and I must keep a level head with our eyes and hearts focused solely on Him as we push through this challenging situation we are facing in today's time.

So, what are your fears, worries, stresses, hang-ups, frustrations, and obstacles due to this Covid-19 pandemic situation? Could it be that it is affecting you and your family socially, emotionally, financially, physically, and/or spiritually?

I know it has for me and my own family as well. But take heart my Christian friend. All is well with my soul and should be with yours because you have Christ on your side and when you trust in Him, live and walk in His ways, He will sustain you at every turn in life!

You can overcome those pandemic fears and stresses!

Don't let anyone tell you that you cannot overcome various pandemic fears and stresses because you can! With the help of the Lord, this promise is given as it reminds us in Matthew 19:26, where it says, "But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, 'With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.'"

Perhaps you and your family have gone through the loss of a dear loved one, or know of others who have lost loved ones due to the pandemic of this Covid-19 coronavirus we are all experiencing. I believe that is one of the main fears of this virus, the loss of life--possibly your own.

If you are a true child of God with Jesus in your heart, and know you are saved--knowing you will go straight to Heaven one day when you die, then you truly have nothing to fear or worry about, and especially about the pandemic that plagues our society at this time.

Consider how Paul encourages the believer here in 2 Corinthians 5:1-8, which says, "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality would be swallowed up of life. Now He that hath wrought us for the self same thing is God who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:). We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."

Of course, I realize that even as Christians, it's hard sometimes to trust in God's words, although they are sure and true and you can always count on them to help you through a tough situation.

The Lord never promised that He would take us out of a bad or difficult circumstance, be He did promise to always be there, never forsaking us, and getting us through the storm as well. Consider the following passages of scripture as you read and study His Word:

  • Isaiah 41:10 says, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness."
  • Deuteronomy 31:8 says, "And the LORD, He it is that doth go before thee, He will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed."
  • Hebrews 13:5 also tells us, "Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, 'I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

How do you overcome various pandemic fears and stresses? By relying on the Lord God for everything--His comfort, guidance, strength, courage, belief, trust, and obedience through all your circumstances.

Constant prayer and Bible study will propel you to believe and trust His Word even more as you honor Him with your faithfulness in your time of devotion and meditation.

Furthermore, you continue to live a holy life that is pleasing to the Lord. As you seek to honor Him, you will find that your fears and stresses will begin to subside. Remember God never promised to take us out of a situation, but He does give mercy, along with His abounding grace as we push forward in life.

Lean on these passages of scripture to do away with the stresses and fears you may be experiencing during these pandemic times:

  • Philippians 4:6 says, "Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God."
  • 1 John 4:18 tells us, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."
  • 2 Timothy 1:7 also says, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
  • Isaiah 35:4 says, "Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: Behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you." And finally,
  • Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

In conclusion, you can rest assured that with or without a pandemic situation on our hands, the Heavenly Father watches over you, to protect and care for you. His sovereign reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords will not allow something to happen to you in which it doesn't come through God first!

He will either allow or disallow a situation or circumstance to happen in your life. You can rest in just knowing that! Whatever God's plan and purpose is in your life, He will make it come to pass, and will not allow you to leave this earth until it has happened. I'm so thankful just in knowing this and knowing that my Savior has it all worked out and taken care of.

My friend, rest easy and don't let negative thoughts about this pandemic swim through your head and heart to worry you. God cares for you and will provide for you, giving you a wonderful hope and future in the end. May the Lord bless each of us in the way He intended to do and may you find happiness in fulfilling His purpose for you, even in a pandemic!
